Newsletter 27 January 2021

Dear Parents

The issue of text books and online registration has been largely successful. I would like to thank you and especially the staff at school who made this possible. I am acutely mindful of the need to keep our teachers and pupils safe and hence our decision to follow an online program until the 15th of February. Should it happen that we are not entirely convinced that it is safe to have pupils back at school, this date might be extended by a week or two.

We do have a clear strategy for the eventual safe return of pupils and I will communicate this to you in due course. For now, it’s important to support the online project and for all parents to register with Edmodo in order to track their child/children’s progress. You would all have received information as to how this is done. This information is also available on the website.

I would like to pause for a moment and ask you to reflect on the incredible psychological and emotional toll this pandemic is taking on all of us. Many have experienced the loss of friends or family and struggling to come to terms with this. I would personally like to express my sincere sympathies to those who have experienced such losses. We need to support and care for each other at this. As a staff we are committed to continue with the education of our pupils and also to support them in so many other ways at this time.

Please be careful, be safe and impress upon your child/children that without masks, social distancing and sanitizing or hand washing we are all under extreme threat. Together we can be safe as long as we are careful and follow simple guide lines.

I wish you a safe and healthy 2021 and look forward to the day when we are no longer faced with a struggle that impacts so severely on our lives and when a positive is not a negative.
