The municipality advises members of the community to boil water before use as it is unsafe to drink. Please provide your child/children with drinking water until further notice. A limited supply of safe water is available at school.

Despite numerous enquiries and confirmations, the Mokopane Municipality has yet to take action on the deteriorating road conditions in Kiepersol Street, a matter of urgent concern for residents, businesses, and Mokopane English Combined School. We will keep the public informed of any developments and remain hopeful that the municipality will fulfill its obligations to maintain critical infrastructure for the safety and well-being of all.

Traffic Disruption 26 and 27 February

Please all send this out on your class groups - The Municipality have assured us that they will start repairing Kiepersol Street from tomorrow through until Saturday. This means that from mid-morning onwards, there will be traffic disruption. Drop off tomorrow morning should be fine but after that it might be better to arrange collection at the garage or in Taylor street.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

What is Valentine's Day? St Valentine's Day is an annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration. Every year on 14 February people celebrate this day by sending messages of love and affection to partners, family and friends.

ECD SPORTS DAY

The ECD hosted their Fun Athletics Day last Saturday in very warm temperatures. However, this did not detract from the fun and excitement. Innovative track and field events kept our young competitors busy and entertained throughout the morning.

Mokopane English Combined School Celebrates 2024 IEB Matric Results

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the matric Class of 2024, the "COVID babies," for their perseverance and resilience. Having started their high school journey amidst the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, they adapted to disruptions, overcame uncertainties, and proved their determination to succeed.

This year’s cohort included three outreach candidates who were incorporated into the matric class and accommodated by the school to assist in writing their examinations. While only one of these candidates achieved success, we extend our admiration and congratulations to all three for their determination, resilience, and commitment to attempting the assessments.

Among the remaining candidates, one was unfortunately unable to complete the examinations and will have the opportunity to rewrite. Despite these challenges, we are pleased to report a 100% pass rate for the rest of our learners, with the following breakdown of results:
22 University Entrance Passes
2 Diploma Passes
4 Higher Certificate Passes

A special mention goes to our top achievers for their outstanding performance:
Resegofetse Mogwera – Top Candidate
Palesa Ngoepe – Second Place
Pembelani Ngobeni – Third Place

Congratulations to the Class of 2024 for their remarkable achievements. Your commitment and efforts have made us proud, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Prefect Induction Ceremony

On Monday, February 27th, an induction ceremony was held for the senior school leaders. Parents and teachers attended the event, where the newly appointed prefects were presented with badges and took an oath of office. Such ceremonies are an excellent way to celebrate the accomplishments of students and formally recognise their commitment to leadership roles. The event not only acknowledges the efforts of the senior school leaders but also encourages others to follow in their footsteps and take on leadership positions in the future.
