18 JANUARY UPDATED IMPORTANT NOTICE : SCHOOL OPENING

I trust and hope that you all had a happy and joyful festive season that you are healthy and safe. Despite the impact of the COVID pandemic I believe we must still look to 2021 with hope and optimism. Indeed, our staff are eager to start the new year. They have been back at work since the 11^th of January as we were expecting to open with an adjusted program but currently are prepared for an online opening, transition into rotational instruction to minimize congestion on our grounds and in the classrooms later.

I am addressing you to explain our risk-adjusted differentiated strategy which allows us to fine-tune the school opening to safely manage our teaching and learning program at this time and to comply with the latest government recommendations. 

Please note,

• We will at all times place the health and safety of our teachers and learners above all else at the school and always implement the required COVID protocols.
• We will also continue to use WhatsApp as a communication portal until we establish a viable alternative which we will implement soon.
• Primary School and High School students.  Please try to make sure your child/children has/have access to an internet device and bring this device when attending the orientation morning next week. An entry level tablet with Wi-Fi capabilities is recommend as a minimal option but a Smart phone will suffice. A laptop for Grade 10,11 and 12 is highly recommended.
• We will be using the usual online applications, Edmodo and Zoom to support our classroom teaching and learning throughout the year and the students will need access to such devices.
