Dear Parents, Staff and Friends
We are delighted to welcome all our members from grade RR to grade 12 back to the school for the start of the 2022 academic year. We as a staff are determined to make this a year that heralds a return to normality but not necessarily a return to the old ways of teaching and learning. We believe that we have to have learned from the past two years and need to reflect on how things have changed and how we can develop a new educational narrative that is progressive, relevant, has quality and is affordable. So as the MECS family I ask us all to commit to a 2022 year that will be impressive, memorable and productive.
I would at this point like to welcome three new staff members to our cohort. Mrs Visagie joins us to teach Afrikaans in the High School, Ms Forssman joins the Primary School to assist with general administration and Miss Vidal has joined the Foundation Phase as an assistant. It is our hope that their time with us will be happy, fruitful and long
We opened the school on Wednesday with a colourful and warm welcome to all old and new learners and I would like to thank all the teachers who were involved in this initiative. It’s heartwarming to see how happy the children are to be coming back to school in their uniforms with the expectation of a normal school year.
I must mention at this point that we will have an enhanced academic focus this year but will at the same time endeavour to offer as wide extramural and cultural program as we can. You need to be alerted early that although the academic day ends at 13h30 on Monday to Thursday the and 12h00 on Fridays, we are introducing an intensive program for academic support.
In other words the academic day for some will on occasions, end at 3 pm. Your cooperation here is both necessary and a condition of enrollment at the school. Extra Mural Timetable Link.

Please be reminded that your school fee stop order amount must be adjusted to reflect the annual school fee increase to avoid falling into arrears with your accounts.
