Dear Parents
In a blink of an eye, another year has come to an end. Please take note of the following information and important dates and times.
- Unfortunately, there will not be a Prize giving Ceremony this year. The learners will still receive Certificates for their achievements, that will be sent out on the last day of school with their reports.
- Picnic day:
Grades 1, 2 and 3 are having a picnic day on the 26th of November (Thursday). Please pack a blanket and food basket for your child. The learners will go to the school field for the day and just have fun. Remember to pack a hat, sunblock and enough water. School will come out at normal hours, 12h30.
- Tuck shop:
There will still be Tuck shop on Friday, 27 November. Please make sure that you send your child’s money on Thursday morning, 26 November. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take any late orders on Friday morning.
- Last day of School:
On Friday, 27 November it will be the last day of school for the December Holidays. We will not be working; therefore, no school bags are needed. Please pack a back pack with food and cooldrink / water or tuck shop money on Thursday. We will be taking the children to the field again to go and eat their food and play. The school will close at 10h00 for all learners where they will receive their reports. Please do not come and collect your child earlier than 10h00. Please make the necessary arrangements with your child’s transport to collect them on time.
- WhatsApp Communication Groups:
Please do not leave the WhatsApp groups during December month. Jenny, the secretary will be editing the groups for 2021. Parents stay on the group that they are now and Jenny will change the groups name as needed; For example, the Grade 1 Group will be changed to Grade 2. All the current Grade 3 Parents may leave the group as it will be deleted (Grade 3 going to Grade 4). If you are 100% certain that your child will not be returning next year then you may also leave the group. “Admin only”, will also activated on the groups to avoid other messages being placed on the groups during December month. This has become one of our main forms of communications, so it is of utmost importance that you stay on the group and do not miss any important messages from the school.
- First day of School:
The school will re-open for 2021 on Wednesday, 13 January with normal school hours from 07h00 – 12h30. Please ensure that you bring all marked stationery with on the first day of school.
We can all agree that this was one tough year. Foundation Phase staff would like to give each and every parent a round of applause for the hard work, co-operation and commitment towards each child’s education this year. This was truly a year that we all had to face a lot of challenges and we could not have done it without the Great Team of Teachers that we have and also the involvement of the parents.
While we are almost off to Holidays to get a well-deserved rest, we ask that you all keep safe and be vigilant on the roads during this Festive Season. Please keep your children safe!
