Dear Parents Staff and Friends

As we approach the end of our first term there are a number of important announcements that you need to be made aware of, particularly in relation to change in starting dates for term two three and four due to the occurrence of public holidays during the week which interrupts the school program we have adapted the calendar to ensure that we have minimal disruption with teaching time.

Inter house Athletics

We held a very successful inter-house athletics meeting last Friday. It was wonderful to witness the high spirits of our learners and the support from the parents. Thanks to Mr. Foord and the staff for making this event such a success.

Golf Day

Support for the golf day has been quite exceptional and I would like to thank all the sponsors who have contributed to the success of the event. We still have room for teams to enter so please make an effort to join us on the day. I would like to thank Mr Foord for all his hard work in arranging this event.

Foundation Phase

Please note the Foundation Phase will receive report cards and close on Wednesday 16 March at normal time.

Closing time for end of term 1:  High School and Primary School

As the school is running its inaugural golf competition on Thursday 17 March and the school  day is likely to have some disruption,  the  Primary and High School and learners will be able to leave at 12 p.m.

Primary and High School reports will be available for collection the following day from the office from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Public holidays and changes to the calendar

Please make careful note of the following calendar changes

  1. School will reopen for all staff and learners on Monday 4 April for the start of term 2
  2. Monday 25 April and Tuesday 26 April will now be holidays with time being made up at the start of term 2 and 3. This means that the week of 25 April to 29 April is  a short holiday/mid-term break
  3. Thursday 16 June is a public holiday.  School will not open on Friday 17 June this day will be made up at the start of term 4.
  4. Please note then that Term 3 will start on Monday 18 July and term 4 will start on Monday 10 October.

Easter School

Grade 11 and Grade 12 Parents please famliarise yourselves with the Easter School Program which is attached below. We are still feeling a lasting impact of the COVID pandemic and it is critical that all Grade 11 and Grade 12 Learners attend. These lessons re run at no cost and are compulsory for all Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners

High School Day change in times

After consultation with teachers  we will be adding formal test lessons twice per week to the timetable for the High School Learners. This means that from term 2 normal  lessons will end at 2.30  on Monday to Thursday to accommodate the extra time required. However, we will still make allowances for learners who need to attend religious classes.

Food for Thought

Have a good weekend

Brian
