Dear Parents, staff and friends
We watch as Eastern Europe is in turmoil and that whilst its far away from us, the impact of the conflict will no doubt be felt here in South Africa. There are seldom clear winners in conflicts of this nature and as the African saying goes “When the Elephants fight, the grass is trampled”. We pray for a quick resolution to this conflict
I need to alert you to some important dates and thus sending this letter out earlier than normal.
Friday 3 March
Inter-house athletics at HPP. This is a normal school calendar day and all learners in the Primary and High schools are expected to attend. We look forward to a fun filled morning and have made the focused effort to involve as many learners as possible. Participation before performance!

Thursday 17 March

MECS Inaugural Golf Day. This event has received excellent support and a wide interest
Friday 18 March 2022 School closes for grade 4 to 12 the end of term 1

Matric Outreach Initiative
The Matric class ran a very successful fund raising initiative and raised money to buy toys for the ECD centre. This was an enormous success and we thank them for bring joy to the younger folk at the ECD center as part of the RAK (Random Act of Kindness) week.

Girl Child Project
Our grade 10 to 12 girls have partnered with the Blessman Ministries to assist with the distribution of reusable feminine health care products in rural communities. This is a wonderful opportunity to reach out to less privileged communities.
The Foundation Phase Sports Day
The Foundation Phase ran its sports day last Friday and this was a really fun day for all and well supported by our parents. Thank you all for your interest and support and well done to all the young athletes and to the organisers particularly Mrs. Duvenhage.
Drop off for High school
We have widened the pavement area at the side gate and encourage parents who are dropping off learners in the morning to move off the road to allow traffic to pass unhindered. Your cooperation here will be appreciated.

News 24 reported zero Covid Deaths in the last 24 hour cycle – the first time since May 2020 and although we still face an uncertain future let us fully embrace a return to some normality. I ask that parents ensure that the learners dress in the correct school uniform and get to school on time. We will be running Friday detentions for habitual late comers and for learners found wanting in other areas of their school loves.
Enjoy the weekend
Brian
